John Wooden’s Seven Point Creed

John Wooden is a legend.

He is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. A double member. As a player (class of 1961) and as a coach (class of 1973). 1 National Championship as a player. 10 as a coach!

His father gave him the following Seven Point Creed at the age of 12………

1) Be true to yourself.

2) Help others.

3) Make each day your masterpiece.

4) Drink deeply from good books, especially the Bible.

5) Make friendship a fine art.

6) Build a shelter against a rainy day.

7) Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day.

Make each day your masterpiece. Make each day your masterpiece. Make each day your masterpiece.

I don’t want to forget #3.

  1. Reminds me so much of The Quest last year; words of wisdom that are worth putting into action and passing on to our sons and our friends. Good stuff man.
