Beautiful Feet
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. - James 1:22-24 (NIV)
This weekend at Woodlands Church, we continued a series titled Where The Wild Things Are: Capture The Wonder of an Untamed God.
Pastor Kerry talked of the Wild Love that God has for each of us and the Wild Love that we should have for others.
One of the characteristics of Wild Love is Beautiful Feet. I think that is what the above verse from James is referring to. Beautiful feet. As Kerry said, “having beautiful feet is putting feet to your faith.”
In the middle of the service, Pastor Kerry invited people to come forward and leave their shoes on the stage.
And they did. 4,380 5000+ pairs of shoes!
1 church on 1 weekend basically wiped out the homeless shoe problem in Houston.
So cool to see all the shoeless people leaving church that day.
OK, now it’s your turn. It’s my turn. Let’s put feet to our faith. Let’s show everyone our beautiful feet.
