Simple Stories

My sister-in-law, Laura, pointed out this great video titled Cardboard Stories.

The video is from her church, The Austin Stone, pastored by Matt Carter (@_matt_carter).  Can’t wait to visit The Austin Stone one of these weekends when I’m back in my hometown.

Every year, churches try to think of new, innovative, creative ways to present the Gospel on Easter.  And they should.

But one method that has always worked and always will is……

sharing simple stories of what Christ has done in the lives of His people

Check it out……..

Oh…..the joy of Easter photos.

Blogging from…..

I’ve posted to this blog from home, from work, from a coffee shop….but right now I am posting to this blog from church.

You can access the internet from every other place you go……so why not have a wired church

I appreciate my church so much.  They have not only embraced technology, but they recognize technology as a way to reach people and change lives.

We just attended the Easter service and it was amazing.  I can’t wait for tomorrow.  Thousands and thousands of people will come to this campus tomorrow and I pray that lives are changed.

P.S.  Don’t you find it odd that the spellchecker for Wordpress blogs doesn’t recognize the words ‘blog’ and ‘internet’?

Happy Easter

I love Easter.

You don’t have the shopping, parties, and traveling like Christmas.

You don’t have the big meals like Thanksgiving.

You don’t have the candy, costumes, and trick-or-treating like Halloween.

You don’t have the picnics, parties, and fireworks like the 4th of July.

Just a big bunny, an egg hunt, and time to focus on the following timeline.

Friday, 9:00am

They nailed him up at nine o’clock in the morning. The charge against him-the king of the jews-was printed on a poster. Mark 15:25-26 (MSG)

Friday, noon

At noon the sky became extremely dark. The darkness lasted three hours. Mark 15:33-34 (MSG)

Friday, 3:00pm

At three o’clock, Jesus groaned out of the depths, crying loudly, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” Mark 15:34 (MSG)

Friday, 3:00pm +

Jesus, with a loud cry, gave his last breath. At that moment the Temple curtain ripped right down the middle. Mark 15:37-38 (MSG)

Friday, late afternoon

Having already purchased a linen shroud, Joseph took him down, wrapped him in the shroud, placed him in a tomb that had been cut into the rock, and rolled a large stone across the opening. Mary Magdalene and Mary, mother of Joses, watched the burial. Mark 15:46-47 (MSG)

Sunday, early morning

Very early on Sunday morning, as the sun rose, they went to the tomb. They worried out loud to each other, “Who will roll back the stone from the tomb for us?” Then they looked up, saw that it had been rolled back—it was a huge stone—and walked right in. They saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed all in white. They were completely taken aback, astonished. He said, “Don’t be afraid. I know you’re looking for Jesus the Nazarene, the One they nailed on the cross. He’s been raised up; he’s here no longer. You can see for yourselves that the place is empty. Mark 16:2-6 (MSG)
