What if anyone could publish a magazine for free?

That is what MagCloud (@magcloud), an HP Development Company, offers.

Allow advertisers to better target advertising to consumers who are more likely to be interested in their products/services.

I also like the “start-up” feel of MagCloud.  Interesting given the fact that MagCloud is part of large, corporate titan Hewlett-Packard.

The technology industry is in the early stages of a big shift — one that will transform how we access information, share content, and communicate.

That is what, Shane Robison, our Chief Strategy and Technology Officer at HP, says in a fascinating, forward looking article titled, The Next Wave: Everything as a Service.

I think there is a lot behind his simple statement.

“early stages” // we ain’t see nothing yet

“big shift” // this will be huge. this is crazy different

“transform” // this is more than improve, more than enhance. this will be a transformation

This next wave will be driven by a new model of computing: Instead of installing packaged software applications on their computers, people and businesses will use their web browsers to access a wide range of “cloud services” available on-demand over the Internet.

On a side note, HP (the company I work for) has brought similar touch screen technology to the PC with their HP TouchSmart product.
